Hopefully they will get back to you pretty quickly answering your questions - as I said in the article any experience of support I have had has been positive.

I know they don't like to talk too much about the algorithm that runs it because it is pretty unique.

I have been willing to try this service for a while and I just did.

It seems that it is not working well because most Google search referral nowadays do not pass the searched keywords. This will make it hard for Hittail get any keywords suggestions.

Another puzzling aspect is that Hittail counts as hits referrals from sites that are not search sites and so they do not provide any keywords to feed the suggestion mechanism.

I was willing to visit their forum site but the forum has vanished. It just redirects to the home page. Seems that either they disabled the forum on purpose or it was a mistake. Let me try the support contact.

Sorry my last post got eaten...

You can either;

1) Embed it as part of the
theme (you can edit theme files from Appearance > Editor) - but this
will get overwritten if you update the theme.

Or.

2) Add a
widget into the area you wish and select Text/HTML and paste it in
there - but your theme may not have an area for this to happen.

I don't believe there are any other ways of doing it sorry.

Sorry, I did not clarify... it is actually not for a blog post - it would be for a sidebar/template item. So static stuff that is part of the template, and not an actual post... Thanks for your help!

Hey,

Thanks for the heads up - I will fix that link now.

To add HTML just in the edit mode of the page click on the HTML view - anything you paste in there will be recognised as HTML and allowed into the page.

In edit mode press CTRL/CMD+F to get "find" up and type HTML if you can't see it.

Maybe I am not understanding correctly, if not let me know!

The fourth link down is broken: "Useful WordPress Themes, Tools and Plugins." I am looking for something in particular, so I tried that link... (I ended up finding it anyway through Google, just wanted to mention.)

Side-note: do you know an easy plugin/way to include raw HTML into a WordPress public page? Really it can be dead simple - I just don't know WordPress that well, and need to embed raw HTML (without WP changing or messing it up) and have it displayed. (It is an HTML form that I want to embed.)

Guess I should have read on a little further:
Note that when you specify an ErrorDocument that points to a remote URL (ie. anything with a method such as http in front of it), Apache will send a redirect to the client to tell it where to find the document, even if the document ends up being on the same server. This has several implications, the most important being that the client will not receive the original error status code, but instead will receive a redirect status code. This in turn can confuse web robots and other clients which try to determine if a URL is valid using the status code. In addition, if you use a remote URL in an ErrorDocument 401, the client will not know to prompt the user for a password since it will not receive the 401 status code. Therefore, if you use an ErrorDocument 401 directive then it must refer to a local document.
